Black and white blog hop

Thanks for joining me today for my day on the Black and white blog hop.  My quilt has some red in it, just for fun.   I want to thank Carla at for hosting this blog hop.

I am sad to say I didn't get it totally completed, although I tried.  I have had some crazy work hours and am still trying to get things organized after a sewage flood in October.  We are in the process of a forced remodel because of it, and one of the rooms being worked on is my sewing room.

But, I do want to share my quilt with you.  I need to add just a couple more borders, then I can get it quilted.

The quilting that I am going to do, will be free motion with some pretend ruler work.  I say pretend, because I don't have the ruler foot or rulers for machine quilting, but I will use my regular rulers to mark my lines.

I will share my quilt here as soon as I get it finished, so I would love for you to follow me.

Info on the quilt:

Pattern is from Quiltmaker Jan/Feb 2014  and is designed by Margie Ullery of   I love Margie's patterns.
As for the fabric, it all came from my stash.

Please visit the other bloggers to see some wonderful inspiration.  I am learning that black and white quilts can be beautiful.

  19. Sorry your sewing is still being delayed due to the reconstrucion. I look forward to seeing the quilt when done-I like what I do see already!

  20. Darn that construction, but I bet your sewing room will be wonderful. I love your quilt with the pop of red. It's so modern and fresh. It will be stunning when it's complete. Thank you, so much, for joining the B&W Blog Hop. I may have to check out Margie's patterns.

  21. I'm sorry that you had a sewer flood - what a horrendous event. The quilt is beautiful to-date. I'll be thrilled to see it when it is completed. It has a wonderful start. The red fabric is beautiful. Thanks for joining the hop.

  22. Love the quilt! And congratulations on the new sewing-room!

  23. I like the quilt so far and look forward to seeing it complete. I love your "pretend ruler work" statement. That made me laugh out loud. Good luck getting things back in order and on track. :-)

  24. What you've completed is great. Working on home projects and trying to find time to sew can be a challenge. That's where I'm at now. A cracked flange and a leaky toilet has forced a bathroom remodel we were hoping to put off for a while longer.
