Today is my day to share for TGIFF (Thank goodness it's finished Friday). This quilt is one that I started sometime ago.
My daughter pieced it and then I quilted it. The quilting was quite simple, I stitched in the ditch around the squares, and then I did a free motion leaf design on the borders.
I used warm and natural batting, front and back are both flannel. I used my Lily 550 from Viking to do the quilting. I used glide thread for the quilting in a warm grey.
My daughter in law requested a jungle theme, so I hope she will like this for my grandson. There is another one in the works, that I hope to have ready for Christmas.
The binding still needs stitched down, but all my evenings after work have been spent putting a basement back together after a sewage flood. This quilt will be ready for gifting to my newest grandson on Sunday.
What have you finished this week? Link up and share with us, please.

Make a List Monday - things are coming along
Hi all,
Well It is actually Tuesday, but let me share with you what I am working on.
I am making progress with this quilt. I have finished 50 of the blocks. I need at least that many more.
I am also making some headway in organizing my fabrics. I am anxiously awaiting to get my basement restored so I can have my sewing room back.
So, for this week, this is what I plan to work on.
1. Continue with the charming flowers quilt.
2. Cut out some t shirts for my grandkids. They will get a handmade Christmas from grandpa and grandma this year, as we are having to put the money into the basement, and I have oodles of knit fabrics. I can sew on these at work during lunches and after work.
3. Work on my arrows quilt.
4. This is a quilt for my son and daughter in law. It is the metro medallion by sew kind of wonderful.
5. Do some hand quilting on this tricot quilt. It is Little Miss Muffet.
6. Continue organizing sewing stuff. I have at least 13 boxes of stuff. Some a projects in Progress and some are fabrics.
All of my piecing our being done by hand right now. So it is slow going.

One Monthly Goal - December 2018
So, I completed last months goal of getting 50 blocks done, but there are more to do.
So, I will continue this month with finishing those blocks and if time allows, I will get them sewn together, and if we are lucky a completed top. I do have 1 1/2 blocks sewn together, just because I had to see it.
It is slow going as I am stitching by hand right now. If all goes well, by mid January, I should be back in the sewing room. Yay!!! I have missed my sewing room.
So to recap the goal for one monthly goal with https://www.elmstreetquilts.com/2018/12/one-monthly-goal-december-goal-link-up.html is to get all the rest of my squares done.
Fabrics are batiks from www.islandbatik.com. The white and yellow are from my stash. I like having goals. What are your goals this month? I love reading your comments, so please leave one.

Make a list Monday
br />
Well, here we are at the start of a new week. I feel like I have not been as productive as I would like to be, but I have made some progress with all the bags from my sewing room. I am measuring all fabrics as I fold them, putting them in clear plastic containers and making a list of what is in each bin. I had been trying to get it all organized and the sewage mess made me do it.
In going through my bags and more bags of stuff, I found missing pieces for quilts I had started. Great. Now I can get those quilts done.
One of the things I am going to do, is put projects in clear zipper bags, so everything is together.
So, with all that being done, and new plans in the making for storage, I do have some things I am working on this week. As I have no place to set up my machines right now, unless I go to local quilt shops, my stitching will be done by hand. That is okay.
1. This is the arrows quilt. It comes from the book Piece and quilt with precut by Christa at www.christaquilts.com. The fabric for the arrows is batik from www.islandbatik.com. The whites are from my stash.
2. This quilt is called Charming flowers and is from the book Simply Charming by Moose on the Porch Quilts at www.moosequilts.com. the prints for the petals are batiks from www.islandbatik.com. the other fabrics are from my stash.
This is all I am working on, quiltwise this week. I will be doing as much organizing of things as I can, due to a sewage mess from the city sewer system a few weeks ago.
If you are feeling generous, we could use your help. We have set up a go fund me page, as the city has declined to help us. http://gf.me/u/npdzjf
I hope you get to do some creating this week.

Sew Thankful blog tour with Sewing by Ti
I am so excited to share with you today. Originally I was going to share a table runner, but right now, there is no place in my house to do a decent picture. So, I am going to share about some things I am thankful for, and in all honesty, I am not 100% grateful for the catastrophe of a sewage mess in my basement. My sewing room was in my basement. I had complete walls, machines set up and a quilting frame set up. Now, I have this:
I have this throughout my basement. Everything is upstairs or in the carport. But, I said I was going to share some things I am grateful for, so here we go.
I am grateful for a wonderful family, of 5 children and 7 grandkids, and for the opportunity I get to be able to go on vacation with my hubby. In September we celebrated 35 years of marriage. We went to Glacier National Park, and had a great time, hiking and just enjoying all the wonderful sites.
I am thankful that I have learned handpiecing, so that I can work on some of my quilting projects during this time. I have no place to set up my machines right now, but I can still create.
I am thankful for the fact that I am able to work and that I am in good health. I am also thankful for great readers like you. I enjoy being able to create, and I know once my sewing room is back together, I will be even more thankful for the things I can create.
So, what are you thankful for? I love reading comments and I try to respond as quickly as I can.
Also, the city has said they won't pay for the repairs. I don't understand it. It was their issue, they should pay. If I damaged someone's property I would have to pay. If you are feeling generous, and would like to he, we have a go fund me account set up. http://gf.me/u/npdzjf

Progress on my projects - things are getting there
Over the last few days, I have made some progress. I am still waiting to hear from the city as to what they will cover due to the sewer damage, but I have been able to go through the bags from my sewing room. Yay!!!!!!
I have 1 bin filled and another one almost there. I have a list in my tablet telling me what is in each bin and the yardage.
I have also made some progress on my one monthly goal. I have a few of these blocks done.
It feels good to make some progress on these things. Hoping to get a lot done this weekend, but I hurt my back at work, so we will have to see.

One Monthly Goal- November 2018
Okay, we are going to try to accomplish this goal this month. Last month, it isn't that I did not try, but if you are a regular reader, you know any efforts were stopped by a sewage backup. My whole basement is upstairs or in the carport. My sewing room is/Was in the basement. This picture shows the current state of my sewing room.
This is how my whole basement is. We currently have a claim filed with the city and are hoping they will cover the costs to put it back to what it was. So, I have little room for sewing right now. I am sad. Oh well, such is life I guess.
For November, I decided that my goal has to just be working on a quilt top. So, I decided to choose a project that I already know where it is. I am slowly going through garbage bags from my sewing room, (when you have to get things out in a hurry and have guys helping, you just through into bags), and putting fabrics into plastic bins.
So, my goal is to get at least 50 of the blocks done for this quilt. It requires at least 96. I can sew by hand in the evenings or during lunch with an industrial machine.
Hopefully this goal gets completed, and maybe all the blocks will get done.
