Welcome to a day of fun and learning what the resolutions for some quilters are for 2021.
Thank you Carla @ https://createinthesticks.blogspot.com for hosting this hop and letting me join.
There are 4 words that I am going to focus on for 2021.
FINISH
If I can learn to do this, I will have a very happy hubby. I will also have quilts made for all my kids (4) and grandkids (9), if I set realistic goals.
LEARN
Continue learning new things about quilting. Learn new techniques. There are some things I want to try. One of them is to play with quilting designs in variegated thread. I think on this quilt, using variegated thread in my petals in the border would be fun.
I also want to try wool batting. I like the look it gives a quilt. I currently have a comforter on my bed that has poly batting in, and I just cannot sleep with that on me. I get too dang hot. I usually use cotton. Just working on getting this quilt done for my bed.
SHARE
Share what I have learned and know. I will do this by teaching classes at a local quilt shop and also with my granddaughters. I have been doing virtual classes with my granddaughters during 2020. Can't wait until I can do in person with them. I will also continue to blog and share on social media.
IMPROVE
Improve on my quilting skills. Practice new designs. I have been saving ideas on Pinterest as well as following some quilters who have done some free virtual classes.
SHARING MY GOALS AND UPDATES
Because I am not always great at planning and follow through, I want to try something new to me. Each week, on Monday I will share my Make a List, which are things I am going to work on. I will share a goal of something new I want to learn or try. Then the following Monday I will share how I did with that goal or over the weekend I will do a post on what I learned. I would like to ask you to be willing to encourage me throughout the week.
I would love to hear what your goals are for the new year.

Hi Kathy, great ideas for 2021. Have a good year. Susie x
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts. Quilting with variegated threads is fun, and learning new skills is always very satisfying! Great ideas for the coming year!
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is lovely. I like to use colored thread - as suggested above, start with some light variegated to 'break' into it. I believe in constantly learning - there is so much out there.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about a wool batting for one of my projects as well. I started a make a list post on Sundays this year but when school started I switched to a monthly format because I was not seeing progress.
ReplyDeleteYou have wonderful goals for the new year. I also would like to try wool batting in my future projects.
ReplyDeleteFinish, Learn, Share, and Improve - sounds like a great way to approach everything. I even wrote it down (a goal of mine)! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou've chosen some great goals for the year! Best to you in 2021.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. Love how you categorized your goals. Looking forward to see how you do through out the year.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteFINISH, that's a big one for me.
ReplyDeleteWonderful goals. Looking forward to your shares.
ReplyDeleteFour great words there. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
ReplyDeleteThose are also some of my goals. Will be watching for your posts.
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is beautiful. I look forward to your variegated thread quilting. I love the look of it and am anxious to see how you use it.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great list of goals for 2021! Make A List sounds like a good way to keep track of goals and finishes. Good luck and Happy New year!
ReplyDeleteI love your goals. Finishing up UFOs is always a great plan.
ReplyDeleteGood luck. They are all things we could do over the coming year.
ReplyDeleteI love your 4 goals!!! Very practical!
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting! :-)
What wonderful goals. I am sure hoping that we all can get back to being able to take a real class in person this year. Your quilting looks amazing. Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteThose are good goals for personal growth as a quilter. Best of luck in 2021!!
ReplyDeleteGreat list of resolutions! How fun it will be to take in person classes again some day. In the meantime Zoom is working well for fun family visits and on line classes or meetings. So wonderful to be able to teach your grands 😉
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! Happy New Year and may you reach the goals you desire.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals for the coming year. It will be nice to teach face to face again, zoom just isn't the same but at least means we can teach or attend classes.
ReplyDeleteVery inpirational! I just made my first quilt with wool batting, will sleep under it tonight and see how it feels.
ReplyDeleteYour 2021 sounds like a great year with those resolutions, especially the sharing part...
ReplyDeleteThose are good goals for 2021! I too will be so happy to get back to in person classes again! I was excited to see the Sewing and Quilt Expo is going to be live again this year!!
