One Monthly Goal- November 2018

Okay, we are going to try to accomplish this goal this month.  Last month, it isn't that I did not try, but if you are a regular reader, you know any efforts were stopped by a sewage backup.   My whole basement is upstairs or in the carport.  My sewing room is/Was in the basement.   This picture shows the current state of my sewing room.

This is how my whole basement is.   We currently have a claim filed with the city  and are hoping they will cover the costs to put it back to what it was.  So, I have little room for sewing right now.   I am sad. Oh well, such is life I guess.

For November, I decided that my goal has to just be working on a quilt top.  So, I decided to choose a project that I already know where it is.  I am slowly going through garbage bags from my sewing room, (when you have to get things out in a hurry and have guys helping, you just through into bags), and putting fabrics into plastic bins.

So, my goal is to get at least 50 of the blocks done for this quilt.  It requires at least 96.  I can sew by hand in the evenings or during lunch with an industrial machine.

Hopefully this goal gets completed, and maybe all the blocks will get done.

  1. OMG that's awful! I know how disrupting life can be when water takes over but sewer water is the worse. One year my youngest son decided to wash his taekwando gear in the sink in my laundry/sewing room. Good thing I arrived on the scene as he was silently wiping up a lot of water which had seeped up the walls and into the next room and required a massive gutting. Come to find out, he started running the water in the sink and then got distracted by the Nintendo and returned to a pool an hour later. I got thru it and so will you.

  2. I'm so sorry about your basement. Hopefully the city will pay up so you can return it to normal. Until then, working on those blocks will make you feel a little bit less displaced. Thanks for linking up to Wednesday Wait Loss.
