Quilt Qwazy Queens bloghop

Welcome to my day on the Quilt Qwazy Queens blog tour. It was suggested we share some UFO's.  Well, I can definitely do that. I have a bunch of UFO's. One of these days I will be so organized I won't have this issue.

I appreciate Marian at www.seamstobesew.com for putting this blog hop together  and finding the sponsors to offer these great prizes. A special thank you to all the sponsors.

So, I am just going to share a couple of the quilts I am working on.

This one is one that I started when I did a book review for Christa Watson.  You can read that review here..  This is her squiggles quilt pattern. I am using some batiks from Island Batik for this quilt. I made a pillow sham and a throw pillow to match.
This is the quilt I am currently working on.

This is the throw pillow that I made.   I took the little pieces that you will cut off to use as a border.

The next quilt I would like to share is one by www.sewkindofwonderful.com.   This one is also being done with batiks from Island Batik.

I know that what I really need to do, is make a list of my ufos and just get them finished. Maybe I need to set some deadlines. Maybe I should say, I need to finish quilting one and piecing one, before I start a new one.

I hope that throughout this blog hop you have been inspired to get some of your ufos finished. I know I have been.

Be sure to enter the giveaway. Just make sure you read the rules first.

Breaking Ground blog tour part 2

Today is my stop on the Breaking Ground blog tour. I was trying to do 2 this week, but I ended up with a migraine for 2 days, so very little got done.

I want to thank Melissa for hosting this blog tour.  I love participating in these.

For the Breaking Ground blog tour, we were told to try a pattern company new to us. I have sewn patterns from the major companies, McCalls, Simplicity, Butterick, Vogue and Kwilts Sew, bit just in the last year have discovered the indie pattern designers. These are smaller designers and their patterns usually are pdf patterns.  I love the pdf patterns. You can print only the size you need, or you can print the whole thing. I print the whole pattern, tape it, and trace the size I need, and then I roll it up, put in a mailing tube, put all pertinent information on the tube, and then I have a master pattern. Also most of these patterns come in several sizes. Usually 2 - 12, and sometimes even bigger ranges than that.

Today, the pattern company I want to feature is www.pickletoespatterns.com.  I found them through a testing call, and I have fallen in love with their patterns.  They are cute and stylish and the directions are well written.

The pattern I am showing you today is the Taylor Tee. It can be color  blocked,  or it can be done plain. I have done the shirt both ways and love it.

This pattern is the Taylor Tee. And the neat thing? If you sew for dad, mom, kids and baby, you can get this pattern in all those sizes. Baby size is NB to 24 Months, kid sizes 2 - 16, Women and Men. My affiliate link is http://pickletoespatterns.com?aff=71.  So, get on over there and grab these patterns. I would love to see what you come up with. I love when my readers share pictures.

Be sure to join me on Wednesday, March 21. I will be sharing some more fun patterns from Pickle Toes Patterns,  some of which you will get for a great deal as they are retiring some.

Please join my friends who are also sharing new to them pattern companies.

Fit for a Princess - Happily Ever After- Spring Dress Tour with GYCT

Today is my stop on the GYCT spring dress tour. Thank you Chelsea for the opportunity to share the Happily Ever After Dress and for the pattern. This post does contain an affiliate link.

I had a tough time choosing the dress I wanted to do, so I sent my daughter a text with the link, and had her and the Girl's decide. Happily Ever After won. With a request in colors for almost every princess. It is okay, grandma loves making these.

My 5 year old granddaughter chose the fabric. She had fun choosing the fabrics.

Onto the pattern.  Chelsea's patterns are fabulous. She writes very well and clear, has great pictures, and if you are introduced to a new skill, she links you to some helpful sites.

This dress has an invisible zipper in the back, and Chelsea has very well written instructions for doing that.  You can add a shawl or just leave it sleeveless. I didn't get the shawl done. Work has been a bit crazy. But, I will add the shawl.

The dress has lining which makes for nice clean finishes. You can use satins or cottons. My granddaughter chose cotton for the dress and organza or organdy for the overskirt. Knowing this dress will be worn a lot, like almost daily, I think the Cotton was a good choice.

You can get the pattern here www.gyctdesignsshop.com?aff=17.
Make sure to click on the giveaway link below for a chance to win. Use the code SPRINGTOUR to get 15% off your patterns you order.

I did have to ask if there was a princess that wore this color, and yes, Sleeping Beauty  (aka Aurora). I get the princesses mixed up.

How fun would it be to have a whole collection of Princess dresses?  Which color would your princess love. Please leave a comment.

Easter with The Handmaidens cottage blog tour

Today is my day on the Easter with The Handmaidens Cottage blog tour. I am so excited   to be here. Thank you to Lo at www.seamssewlo.com for hosting this tour and to www.handmaidenscottage.com for providing us with the patterns for this blog tour.

I have 3 Easter dresses to make this year. Well, let's reword that. I get to make 3 Easter dresses this year. So when Lo posted about this tour, I knew I had to apply for it. I immediately went to The Handmaidens Cottage website, and let me tell you, I had a tough time deciding which pattern to make. So many cute choices. I chose the Tea Party Dress.

Years ago I was making dresses to sell and I made one that was similar to this. I had loved those dresses and they sold well. So, when I saw this, I just had to do it.
I knew this dress would be loved by my granddaughters.  I only had time to get 1 done for this blog tour.  So, I sent 1 daughter to buy my fabric. She took 1 of her girls with her, not the one this dress is for, but she knew her big sister would like this fabric. She was right, they got it home, and my oldest granddaughter loved it.

My granddaughter was so excited when she saw the picture of the dress I had sent my daughter.

Because Easter can still be a bit chilly in our neck of the woods, I am going to add the eden blouse to wear under this. And then, I have decided that to really make it stand out, we need a full slip underneath.  So, I need to sit down and gather more layers of ruffles. But, you know, it is worth it. When they are excited over what you make.

Just a short recap:
The pattern is the Tea Party Dress  (sizes 6 months - 8) from www.handmaidenscottage.com Use the coupon code: EasterTour2018 for 30% off all patterns and bundles. It would be greatly appreciated if you would use my affiliate link http://handmaidens-cottage.myshopify.com?aff=24

The fabric is from www.joannstores.com
